Is there a uniqueness constraint on customer phone numbers?
If so, what do we do if a member changes phone numbers in the future? It often happens that we have new members registering using a previous member's phone number (the previous owner has usually changed service providers and hasn't ported their mobile phone number.
If we can't deactivate the previous COS customer, then we will also be unable to delete their primary phone record.
Answer:
There is no uniqueness constraint for phone numbers across customers. We only check that you don't have the same number active under the customer you're modifying.
Tax Id is the unique identifier that would trigger us to inform you that the customer already exists.
